Our Event

NHS Education for Scotland’s eighth national conference is for you as a trainee or trainer. Find out why we are interested in the quality of the training process; do you agree that successful outcomes depend on: a clear plan, a strong network of support and timely monitoring of progression? We think engagement with peers and sight of role models is critical.  So, our speakers include some success stories from our emergent scientists still in training. You can also hear from colleagues deeper into their careers as they develop their advance practice. Networking and developing “softer” skills are equally important and sometimes overlooked in the process of becoming a scientist. Our event is an opportunity to learn how all these elements are being addressed and NES’s overarching role in assuring training across Scotland. The workshops will explore issues relating to equivalence and registration – some generic principles, STEM, building a network, and developing resources to support scientific practise.

Our event is an opportunity to showcase your poster work and build on your repertoire of poster submissions... all good for the CV.

Regardless of identity, specialty or destination, it is an opportunity to hear about the ongoing development of Scotland’s healthcare science community and to contribute to it. Our event is free with complimentary lunch.

Posters and Prizes
Science is about communication. This event is a great way to tell colleagues about any aspect of your work as a scientist, perhaps where you have led a project, been involved in some service improvement or introduced a new technique. Explain why it is important and the benefit. Individual submission by a healthcare science trainee with prizes of £200, or £700 for joint submissions of up to 3 healthcare science trainees, towards CPD support.

Remember to register for the event and bring your poster along on the day.
