Participants will have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of colleagues across health and social care.  In the morning, there will be a range of presentations, including a keynote address from the Scottish Government.  In addition, there will be a series of interactive workshops which will provide you with the information and tools you need to meet the requirements of the model Complaints Handling Procedures in health and social work as well as understand the social care complaints process and hear about the experiences of some organisations in implementing the new procedures.

In the afternoon, we will hear from the Scottish Government about the Duty of Candour and what this means for health and social care.  There will be an experiential session on having difficult conversations and we will also hear about the Science of Sorry, the legal perspectives as well as the experience of implementing Duty of Candour south of the border.  This session will help participants to understand their roles and responsibilities in relation to the Duty of Candour which applies to all health and social care staff in Scotland.
