Susan Jamieson is Professor of Health Professions Education at the University of Glasgow. Originally a biochemist with postdoctoral experience in cancer research, on joining the University in 1993 she became increasingly involved in teaching medical students, becoming Director of Year 1 in the UG Medical School and eventually its Deputy Head, with responsibility for the early years of the medical curriculum. She simultaneously developed and directed a master’s programme in Molecular Medicine. With this experience and a doctorate in education, she was well-placed to develop and direct the University’s online MSc Health Professions Education programme, established in 2015.
