Shona Robison MSP

Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport

Scottish Government

Shona Robison is the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Dundee City East and presently serves as Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport in the Scottish Government.

In the May 2011 Scottish Parliamentary Elections, Shona was re-elected for Dundee City East more than doubling her majority and taking 64.2% of the votes, a mandate which she described at the Election Count as ‘truly humbling’.

Shona was first elected to represent Dundee East (now renamed Dundee City East) in 2003 having been a list MSP for the North East region since 1999. In 2007 she was appointed Minister for Public Health and in 2009 was given the additional responsibility for Sport, with responsibility for the highly-successful Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.

In 2014, Shona was appointed Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport, one of the major briefs in Government, by the new First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

Shona is married to Stewart Hosie, the Member of the Westminster Parliament for Dundee East. Shona and Stewart have a young daughter and live in the constituency they represent in the two Parliaments.
