Nicola Cotter is the Head of GMC Scotland responsible for delivering the GMC corporate strategy in Scotland and representing Scotland to the wider GMC, working with partner organisations, and leading on communications and engagement with the medical profession, other stakeholders and the public. Before her appointment as Head in 2018, she was the Scotland Liaison Adviser, working on the frontline for the GMC, supporting over 3000 doctors from across Scotland to embed GMC standards and guidance into practice, as well as talking to them about other key areas of GMC work. Prior to that she worked within the voluntary sector promoting self-management and person-centred care although the majority of her career has been in the private sector in leadership and management.
