Quality Manager

Nadine Wilkinson is currently the Quality Manager for Laboratories in NHS Lothian.  Nadine started in 2006 as a Biomedical Scientist in the Virology Department, followed by becoming the Training and Education Manager for Labs, then onto Quality.  Her current role consists of ensuring that labs adhere to all forms of mandatory regulations (for example the Health and Safety Executive,  United Kingdom Accreditation service (UKAS)), along with managing the departmental quality management system, risk register, audits and non conforming work.  Alongside this Nadine is a part time lecturer for Fife College (Microbiology) and a technical assessor for UKAS.  Labs have just started to implement Human Factors into their processes, and Nadine looks forward to sharing this and discussing the role of Human factors as part of the workshop.
