Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist

Lisa Logan is a Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist in the Serology, Virology and Molecular sections in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Infection Control at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

She originally started with the department in April 2000 as a student undertaking a Medical Microbiology BSc Honours project on culture screening methods for MRSA. Then joined the department as a Trainee MLSO in February 2001, gained her HPC registration and subsequently in 2003 a MSc in Biomedical Science.

Lisa was promoted to her current role in 2006 originally working in the Media department and moving onto Urinalysis and Seminal Analysis. In her role as the Serology/Molecular Senior she has a particular interest in Quality Management and has been recently involved with the consolidation of all their Molecular testing onto a single platform.

In her spare time Lisa knits, enjoys long walks with her 3 dogs and has recently taken up beekeeping.
