Julie is a Clinical Cytogeneticist registered with the HCPC and is based at the department of Medical Genetics, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.  She is an associate member of the Royal College of Pathologists and has a PhD in diabetes research with postdoctoral experience in stem cell research.

Julie has worked as a Research Associate at the University of Texas Health Care Science Centre in San Antonio.  She has supervised both Masters and PhD students and helps train Clinical Scientists and practitioners.
