Biomedical Scientist

Gillian Holland is currently working in the Molecular Pathology department within NHS Lothian as a Biomedical Scientist.  Prior to this, Gillian worked in the South East Scotland Genetics laboratory and for the External Quality Assessment provider GenQA as a Healthcare Scientist.  While in these roles, Gillian began the process of training to become a Biomedical Scientist.  This training included studying distance learning courses to “top-up” Gillian’s honours degree qualification and undertaking a competency portfolio which would allow Gillian to apply to the Health Care Professions Council for registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
