Liz Kilgour completed her Microbiology degree at the University of Glasgow, is a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science and holds Chartered Scientist status.

She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Biomedical Scientist and as a Clinical Scientist, after successfully completing the Equivalence programme in Clinical Microbiology via the Academy for Healthcare Science route.

Liz is currently employed as Microbiology Laboratory Manager in NHS Forth Valley and is also the local Professional Lead for Healthcare Science.

Professionally, she has served as Honorary Secretary of the Scottish Microbiology Association and as an invited lecturer to Glasgow Caledonian University’s undergraduate Biomedical Science Degree Programme.

Previously, Liz was on secondment to NHS Education for Scotland as Healthcare Science Speciality Lead for Infection Sciences.
