Alzheimer Scotland

Dr Barbara Sharp is Policy and Practice Consultant with Alzheimer Scotland. She has a background in nursing and nurse education in the NHS, specialising in the care of older people, prior to joining Alzheimer Scotland in 1990. Within Alzheimer Scotland, Barbara has held posts in service delivery, management, research and development. Her current role involves working across the public policy and workforce development teams.

She works closely with the national network of Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Nurse Consultants and is a member of the National Dementia Champions teaching team in partnership with colleagues from the University of West of Scotland. Barbara completed her PhD in 2015 with a study on stress as experienced by people with dementia.
