Dr David Ashburn has worked in the NHS for 34 years in the Biochemistry, Scottish Toxoplasma Reference Laboratory, Virology and the Microbiology departments at Raigmore Hospital Inverness.

Currently he is the microbiology department manager, UKAS technical assessor for virology and is seconded to the Scottish Government as professional lead for transformational roles in Healthcare Science. David is also involved in the North of Scotland Region Laboratory Board.
