Specialty Doctor and QI Lead

NHS Ayrshire & Arran

Dr Claire Gilroy has been a Specialty Doctor in NHS Ayrshire and Arran for 10 years with over eight years spent in the field of Emergency Medicine. She holds postgraduate qualifications in leadership and management including a PG Cert in Advancing Healthcare Practice and an MBA. She is the Clinical Lead for Service Development and Improvement and is responsible for leading the medical workforce strategy in NHS Ayrshire and Arran, contributing to national medical workforce work-streams. She has previously held roles as interim Associate Medical Director for the Crosshouse hospital site and Clinical Lead for Realistic Medicine. She is also an active appraiser.

Outside of her NHS work Claire helps new start technology firms develop health tech in a consultancy role and offers coaching for interview preparation. She is also a Trustee of Harbour Ayrshire which is a charity that aims to help those affected by addiction into employment.
