Anita is a lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University and comes from a varied practice background in occupational therapy, having worked in leadership and policy roles, including a stint as a Consultant AHP in Dementia with NHS Scotland. Anita also has a background teaching occupational therapy in both Australia and the UK. In 2020, Anita was co-convener of Occupational Therapy Australia’s inaugural Occupational Therapy Practice Exchange, and is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.

Anita’s current research and publication interests are in practice based learning, health workforce trends, and support needs. Anita lives and works with a long term condition and is particularly interested in supporting a workforce that represents the people we work with.

Anita was a key contributor to the 2018 occupational therapy textbook Implementing Occupation-Centred Practice: A Practical Guide for Occupational Therapy Practice Learning, and has just co-edited the new book Supervision for Occupational Therapists: Practical Guidance for Supervisors and Supervisees.
