NES 2018 Staff Conference Wednesday 21 November 2018

To assist you with your choice of Parallel Session please see the descriptions below (delegates will attend 1 session only).  Choices made via the booking form.

Session 1:  Joint Working with other National Boards

Greg Thomson, Director for the National Boards, will join us to explore the work of the National Boards Collaborative and examine how this approach will achieve the triple aims of: supporting evaluation, improvement and transformation; digitally enabled service redesign; and developing a sustainable workforce.

Session 2:  RRHEAL Small Isles and Digital Skills

This workshop will demonstrate how NES RRHEAL and our Digital team worked together to meet the needs of Rural Health & Social Care Support workers in the Small Isles, NHS Highland by helping develop digital skills.  The workshop will discuss RRHEAL's modes of educational delivery and service-led development, and will feature a first-hand account of the impact of this work from a service user.

Session 3:  Working Together to Deliver Trauma Informed Care in Sexual Offences Services

Medical, Psychology and NMAHP worked together to train more Sexual Offences Examiners, particularly female examiners, to ensure victims of rape and sexual assault can be examined by a professional of the gender of their choosing.  They redesigned and implemented training courses that are more accessible, more portable and are trauma-informed.  Explore the benefits and challeges to this joint approach and hear directly from one of the recipients of the training.

Session 4:  Creating Tomorrow's NES Today

Collaboration offers a useful approach to drive improvement and change.  Yet we all know how difficult collaboration can be in practice. In this workshop, members of NES's Leadership & Management Forum will share their story so far and their learning on making collaboration easier and more effective.  We will explore the building blocks that make groups work well using live case work and create a dynamic Planning Wall, to gather ideas for people to test out for themselves.
