Seventy years ago, the new NHS came into being. In tandem, the advances in diagnostics, treatments and care that have unfolded are unprecedented in human history.  Whilst the medical and nursing workforces were already well-established at the inception of the NHS, the scientific workforce developed considerably as the demands of service grew.

Our one day event this year celebrates the achievements of today’s Healthcare Science staff and explores how we can improve the influence and contribution our workforce makes to the service. Change is a fact of life and the healthcare science community has been, and is, at the heart of those NHS changes that will shape the diagnostics, treatments and care of the future. Our Advancing Healthcare Awards contributors are a testament to the innovative spirit of our community; the workshops explore key national objectives and the challenge of influencing change.

Above all our event is an opportunity to network and learn from others.
